Terms of Use
Last updated: 4 October 2026
These terms apply when you use the BookSpot website and apps. By creating an account or making a booking you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.
1. What BookSpot is
BookSpot is a place to find and book local services such as halls, pools, venues, photographers and vehicles. Each service is offered by an independent business. When you book, your agreement for the service is with that business. BookSpot provides the booking system; it does not own or run the services listed.
2. Your account
- You need an account to book. You must be 18 or older.
- Give your real name, a working email address and a mobile number you can be reached on, and keep them up to date.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
3. Making a booking
- Choose a service, a date and a time. The price and the advance to pay are shown before you reserve.
- When you reserve, the time is held for you for a short period, shown on screen, while you choose how much to pay.
- To keep the booking, pay at least the advance by bank transfer and upload your payment slip before the deadline shown.
- A booking is confirmed only after the business has checked your payment. You will get a notification.
- If the hold or the payment deadline runs out, the booking expires and the time is offered to other customers.
4. Prices and payment
- Prices are set by each business and shown in Sri Lankan rupees (LKR).
- You pay the business directly, by bank transfer to the account shown at checkout. BookSpot does not receive or hold your money.
- Any balance is paid to the business as shown on your booking.
- Upload only genuine payment slips. A false slip can lead to the booking being cancelled and your account being closed.
5. Cancelling and refunds
- You can cancel a booking from My bookings until the booking date, unless a payment slip is still being checked.
- Each service shows its cancellation policy. Read it before you book: it decides how much, if anything, is returned.
- When a paid booking is cancelled, a refund request for the amount you paid is recorded. The business decides it under its cancellation policy and returns the money itself. You can follow the refund on your booking.
- A business may cancel a booking, for example if the place becomes unavailable. The same refund steps apply.
6. Using BookSpot fairly
Please do not:
- give false information, or book times you do not intend to pay for;
- use someone else's account, or try to get into parts of BookSpot that are not meant for you;
- copy, scrape or disrupt the website or apps.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.
7. Listings
Businesses are responsible for their descriptions, photos, prices, opening hours and policies. We review a service before it is listed, but we cannot promise that every detail is correct or stays correct. If something is wrong, please tell us.
8. Our responsibility
The business is responsible for providing the service you booked. BookSpot is responsible for running the booking system with reasonable care. As far as the law allows, BookSpot is not liable for the quality, safety or delivery of a service, or for losses caused by a business or by events outside our control. Nothing in these terms removes rights that the law gives you and that cannot be removed.
9. If something goes wrong
Contact the business first, using the phone number on your booking. If that does not solve it, open a ticket on the Support page and we will help.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using BookSpot after a change, the new terms apply.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.
