Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 October 2026

This policy explains what information BookSpot collects when you use the website and apps, and what we do with it. It goes with our Terms of Use.

1. What we collect

  • Account details: your name, email address, mobile number and, if you add one, a profile photo. Your password is stored in a scrambled form that we cannot read.
  • Bookings: the service, date, time, number of guests and any note you write to the business.
  • Payments: the amounts, your bank transfer reference and the payment slips you upload. We do not collect card numbers.
  • Support: the messages and files you send us in support tickets.
  • Favourites and notifications: the services you save and the messages we send you.
  • Your device: if you use the app and allow notifications, a notification token for your device.
  • Technical records: your IP address, browser type and the time of sign-ins and important actions, kept for security.

2. How we use it

  • to create your account and let you sign in;
  • to make, confirm and manage your bookings and payments;
  • to send you booking and payment updates in the app, by SMS and by notification, and emails to reset your password;
  • to answer support requests;
  • to keep BookSpot safe, prevent misuse and fix problems.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

3. Who sees it

  • The business you book with sees your name, mobile number, booking details, notes and payment slips, so it can serve you.
  • BookSpot's team can see accounts, bookings and payments to give support and keep the service safe.
  • Companies that work for us to host BookSpot and to deliver SMS, email and app notifications (app notifications are delivered through Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging). They may use your information only for that work.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it.

4. Cookies

The website uses only the cookies it needs to work: one that keeps you signed in, one that protects forms from misuse and, if you choose "Keep me signed in", one that remembers you on that device. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. Records of bookings and payments are kept afterwards for as long as they are needed for accounts, disputes and legal duties.

6. Your choices

  • See and change your name, mobile number, photo and password on the Account page.
  • Turn app notifications off in your phone's settings. Booking updates by SMS are part of the service.
  • Ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to close your account and delete it. Use the contact details below.

7. Security

BookSpot is served over an encrypted connection. Payment slips are stored privately and shown only to you, the business you paid and BookSpot's support team. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a password you do not use anywhere else.

8. Children

BookSpot is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
